Abstract

The Lacanian notion of the "stage of the mirror" reveals the deceptive aspect of the recognition of oneself and the origin of identity. Starting from this formulation, the authoress proposes a reflection on the imaginary factors involved in the formation, affiliations, and construction of the analyst’s identity.
