Abstract

This work points out to issues of adolescence and some peculiarities of the clinical attendance to this population. Starting with clinical examples, the objective is to separate what is part of the development process as opposed to what can be characterized as pathology. Having Winnicott as a reference, some characteristics regarding this demographic segment are broached: the difficulty in establishing a diagnosis, the necessity of a continent and flexible setting, and the mixture of interventions and interpretations in the psychotherapeutic process. It brings an experience where it was not possible for the therapeutic process to have a good end, and emphasizes the necessity of finding better solutions to the problems that usually distress the professionals that work with teenagers.
